Greenwich Lantern Parade and Christmas Lights On

Greenwich Children’s Lantern Procession
21 November 2017  - starts 4pm ORNC Visitor Centre, ends 6pm Greenwich Market

The spectacular Greenwich lantern procession and the switching on of the Market’s Christmas sparkly lights is such a special Christmas celebration event and a joyous start to the festivities.   Four local schools, led by a jazz band from Trinity Laban, will parade their handmade colourful lanterns through the ORNC grounds, into Cutty Sark Gardens and into the Market for the big Christmas Countdown and Lights On. Followed by performances on stage by the Angelina Jandolo Dance Showcase and Greenwich Stagecoach singers. Father Christmas will welcome visitors in his Greenwich Grotto at 11 Durnford Street from 3pm to 6pm.

Visitors can make their own lanterns at a free Lantern making workshop, sponsored by Royal Borough of Greenwich, in Greenwich Market on Saturday 17 November, 1pm to 4pm
