VE Day Celebration - 75th Anniversary
Friday 8th May
Greenwich Market will be celebrating the anniversary of 75 years since VE Day on Friday 8th May with music and entertainment in the Market. On May 8th, 1945, UK wartime Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, announced the end of the war in Europe, as the Germans surrendered. Millions of people took to the streets in celebration.
Greenwich Market would like to mount an exhibition of local photographs of Greenwich families and friends celebrating this momentous day in 1945. Do you have photographs – or copies of photographs - you would like to share? If so, please email us at email@example.com and we will send you more information.
Email us old images to the email above and if you have any information about who is in the photo, where it was taken. And how you got a hold of it.
Then join us on Friday 8th May to see a collection of celebrating a great day!
