Flattened bottles and fused glass by Dorothy and Nigel Dernley
Glass Constructions, Dorothy and Nigel, have been working with glass since 1991, at first painting or producing stained glass items. They also have started working with warm glass. This involves heating glass to the soft stage, around 820°C, when layers of glass will fuse together. The flat sheet of glass that is produced can be used for coasters, cheese or cake boards, wall plaques or included in stained glass windows. In addition, the flat glass can be reheated, at a lower temperature, and slumped into a mould to produce dishes, bowls, or other three- dimensional items. When cool these are tough and versatile items to grace any household, but they keep the essential beauty of glass and by the very nature of the production process are unique.
Other products they make, using similar techniques, are flattened bottle clocks, for which we have a separate page, and dichroic coated glass pendants and earrings. This eye-catching jewellery makes wonderful presents for anyone.
Dorothy has developed a range of coasters, with subjects such as flowers, hearts, faces, trees, fish, beach huts, random patterns, and others. All are individual and not repeated.
We also make some with copper foils cutouts of hearts, butterflies, dragonflies, stars etc. The shapes are a deep burnt red colour as the copper changes colour with the heat.
As each item is unique a general description only will have to suffice, much as woodturners can never duplicate the grain in their bowls.
The range of items is extensive, because the patterns, sizes and colours vary widely, so the best way to see them is to visit their stall in Greenwich Market.

I am Ching Piau Khoo originate from Malaysia and I am a self-taught artist who has lived in the UK for over 20 years. My background and love of nature and my wish to express this through art has been at the forefront of my life. The intention is to relay life's beauty and joy in every painting.
The work is made with high-quality professional-grade watercolour paints and cotton canvas. Layers of watercolour wash are employed and detail is enhanced with pen and ink. I make originals as well as limited edition prints in a variety of sized to suit every customer. The commission is also regularly undertaken and welcome.
The delicate and beautiful marks my love of nature and sheer happiness with life. Generally, before the artist paints, there is an idea of what to display on the canvas, but this sometimes happens almost magically as the idea progresses through my thought process. I study the subject matter carefully and choose ideas that are inspirational at that precise moment. At this point, I become immersed in the artistic process.

I am a UK based designer, living in London and one of my main commitments is attending Greenwich Market, as this gives me scope to work on new products to sell.
Other commitments include attending The Blackheath Embroiderers Guild, as this gives me the chance to experiment with new techniques. I love visiting Kew Gardens as I need to walk in nature to recharge my soul and soak in the beauty of creation to bring freshness to form within my being, often after these times in the garden I am full of creativity to bring back into the flowers that I make with fabric.
I studied for my FDA (Foundation Degree) at The University of the Arts London, London college of Fashion, where I completed my Design & Technology, Fashion Embroidery pathway, otherwise known as surface textiles.
The philosophy of Samines is to speak beauty over the flowers, so when a woman wears a piece she steps into her identity as a woman. I have seen countless women's eye's and skin colour change when they wear one of my pieces, once they realise and believe they can wear one of my creations they then step into their identity of beauty. This pushes me to create new products knowing each woman is beautiful and deserve to live and experience this beauty in their lives.

Named after our dear Grandma’s, Annie Rose and May McFarland, anniemay came to life over a glass (or two) of wine at our kitchen table. After much encouragement from family and friends we planned our first open day, it was an enormous success and many orders and home party bookings followed.
Over the years, we have been inspired by the idea of recycling, restoring and giving new life to beautiful pieces that otherwise would have been discarded. Take a browse through our ‘market place’, a whole chapter dedicated to just that.
All our designs are lovingly handcrafted solely by us. We use an array of beautifully sourced fabrics, textiles, vintage and recycled items, delicate solid silver nuggets and beautiful murano and glass beads.
We hope you enjoy our designs as much as we enjoy making them – we hope you find them beautiful, good quality and easy on the pocket.

Hello,
I have been making my ceramics for over 8 years as a London-based ceramic artist. Over this time the pieces have evolved & transformed whilst keeping the essence of the original forms. Ceramics should evoke the desire to look and, if not more so, to touch.
Predominantly I use two different clays – porcelain & white earthenware. These collections focus on simple forms of cylinders, bowls and eggs shapes.
The largest collection I make is the tea light shells. I use either porcelain or white earthenware to form small bowls evoking the fragility of eggshells and the properties of each material achieve a different finish. The white earthenware is a solid material so I use mixes of crystalline glazes to the interior of the shell whilst leaving the exterior raw. The porcelain collection, in turn, is kept very simple by using the beauty of the pure porcelain, and to benefit from its strength and translucent properties.
Using a mould as my resist I make them by hand and the clay has the imprint of my fingertips. With the porcelain there is also a natural slight variation of thickness which when lit at night produces a soft cloudy effect. Each shell is pushed to a non-uniform shape & sanded on the outside surface to produce a smooth tactile surface.
Working the porcelain to near paper fine thinness I am interested in seeing how delicate you can work the porcelain while still retaining its strength. This has also led to combining various sizes of porcelain bowls into each other. The porcelain becomes soft during firing & moves in reaction to the form I have made. The finished piece will depend on how the combined bowls counter-balance & react to each other, becoming a unique organic form.
The cylinders collection began as very linear structural forms. Inspired by the movement of the porcelain during firing I began to experiment by exaggerating bends & folds during the making, adding the central etched lines to highlight the curves of the form. The porcelain is refined to a smooth sanded tactile finish. I apply copper oxide to the lines, which contrasts with the clay body and once again highlights the folds.
Throughout my work I am interested in the form of the piece as much as the function and how the structural properties of clay can be utilised in a beautiful way.

Mark Weston Lewis grew up in London, a city that creatively inspired him from an early age. Feeling a strong appreciation for Art works and collectable pieces, he made a career in the Auctioning world, working at an Auction House in London valuing Arts and antiques. After fifteen years surrounded by precious pieces, he felt the need to do something creative himself, and so he decided to pursue further education and became a Landscape Architect, job that saw him grow into the Artist he is today. Throughout those years he developed a passion for nature and for the natural elements involved in traditional crafts and sculpture, in particular wood. So he followed his passion and decided to become a wood craftsmen and move to Devon, where the surrounding nature would give him the resources and inspiration required to thrive.
Mark works from his studio in Modbury, where he produces wooden bowls and vases using locally materials. Over the years, he has established a network of relationships with nearby land owners to supply him with beautiful local wood. Mark is also very passionate about and involved in the process of conservation of the local woodlands, so wherever a tree needs to be removed, he has actively helped planting a new one.

Structure and its aesthetic has always been an interest of mine. Throughout my practice I have always found that it is the structure of the subject that grabs my attention from the beginning. This is what has lead me to using architecture as my inspiration. I like the challenges created by the buildings when drawing a cityscape and how perspective and tone become a big part of the piece.

My work is textile-based, using mainly African fabrics to create original pictures and fashion accessories.
I have always loved Ethnic Art, especially from Africa and when I discovered African fabrics, I developed a passion. I started to collect African wax print fabric. Their vibrant colours and imaginative patterns are fascinating and inspiring.
Using a technique originally from France, I make what I call "Fabric Pictures" on foam board. I use the simplicity of the lines of my African designs to enhance the original patterns of the African fabrics.

The Camden Watch Company is an independent British brand designed in the heart of Camden.
It began as a showcase for our watch design studio. A way to flex our design muscles and show our clients just how passionate we are about the products we design.
And because it started as a showcase, it meant we had the freedom to do whatever we wanted. We didn’t need to worry about how commercial the products were, we didn’t need investors, a five year plan or a marketing strategy.
All we needed was some start-up money and a whole lot of inspiration.
Along came Camden.
We’d been living in Camden for around four years at this point and we loved it. From our first trip as teenagers, arriving in Camden on a gloomy, wet afternoon and walking around in awe, we were hooked.
“One day,” we said to one another, “we’ll live here”.
And live here we do.
But loving (and living in) Camden wasn’t enough of a reason to base a brand on it, so we started researching the area, and it turned out that the more we researched, the better it became.
From Victorian horse hospitals turned into market stalls, to steam train turntables turned into gin warehouses, to bare knuckle boxers and dead elephant circus owners, Camden’s past was as eclectic as its present.
It began as a showcase, but it became into so much more.
From Camden with love.

SLAB FUDGE • HANDMADE IN GREENWICH • LONDON
SLAB FUDGE • HANDMADE IN GREENWICH • LONDON
7 Greenwich Market.
Patch Hyde has been making fudge since he was 16. And not just any fudge, the proper stuff, made on a marble table and boiled in massive pots. It is woven into long logs and sliced while still warm on the table. This results in the smoothest, creamiest fudge you can imagine (and he imagines you imagine fudge a lot).
For those many years he worked with the fudge greats at Fudge Kitchen. While there he has made fudge for great and good, he has made fudge live on Sunday Brunch and Cbeebies, he staged an award-winning comedy show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival about life in a fudge shop. He tried to work out how many batches of fudge he has made in his life but then he got confused when he forgot to carry the one and settled on the number “lots”. Basically, he’s pretty legit when it comes to boiling sugar.
Now with the help of the fine people at Fudge Kitchen and the faith of the good people at Greenwich Market he is bringing proper fudge to London. From the start of July 2018 he will open his very own shop in Greenwich. It’s called the Fudge Patch and he would love you stop by and see traditional, slab fudge made, try and few samples and possibly buy a slice or two.
He is great at making fudge but bad at doing business things, so he would like to thank his mum and his girlfriend who have listened to him complain about filling in forms and generally been the best two ladies a boy could know.

Home fragrance and Lifestyle. Handmade, Hand-poured, Hand-finished luxury gifting.
Patricia was a day-care provider in a very busy part of London. She was a kindly lady who would go above and beyond to try and enhance the lives of the children she looked after. Coming from a humble background, her stories of travel would ignite a yearning for adventure and exploration in one particular boy.
It was many years later that this boy (now a young man) would have the opportunity to visit one such place himself and, as a gesture of gratitude, decided he would bring her back a gift.
The gift was of course 3 perfumes that distinctly represented the pastoral town of Grasse, South of France (commonly known as the global capital of perfumery), a place that he could remember the kind lady saying she had revelled in all of those years ago. He also brought her back a collection of postcards and memorabilia.>br>
Needless to say, on receiving these small gifts, Patricia was overcome with emotion. Smelling these perfumes and reading about a town she had once loved allowed her to relive her previous joy for a fleeting moment.
This was the birth of ‘The Grasse Collection’ and a pivotal point in the creation of Magma London.
The foundation was set for a home fragrance brand that delivers not only beautiful collections of scents from around the world, but a snapshot of the culture and human experience that comes with it.
It is now our ultimate goal to bring this same experience to as many households around the world as we possibly can. Keep your eyes (and noses) open for our new collections of signature fragrances which will be hand-picked from areas around the world renowned for their historical influence on the perfume world as we know it.

We make the best Sicilian cannoli this side of Sicily. Markets, wholesale, & events in London.
Casa Cannoli started from the simple observation that it was difficult to find a good cannoli in London.
Having grown up in Sicily and knowing what goes into making this traditional pastry, we were confident that by recreating the authentic experience of eating one, people would fall in love with them.
At Casa Cannoli we freshly fill cannolis using the highest quality ingredients, most of them imported directly from Sicily but also from other parts of Italy.
Pistachio from Bronte at the foot of the mount Etna in Sicily and Piedmont Hazelnuts from the North East of Italy are just two of the DOP certified ingredients we use for our cannolis.
Our ricotta -the crucial ingredient- is sourced from Palermo in Sicily and is made entirely of sheep's milk as per tradition.
To make our concept unique, as well as producing the traditional cannoli in its classic recipe we also create our own flavours, most of which are inspired by Sicilian tradition. We also boast a range of contemporary recipes for special occasions and holidays.
We are gradually introducing other Sicilian specialities that deserve attention for their uniqueness and authenticity such as sweet pistachio and almond spreads, hand-made soft baked almond cookies, dark chocolate from Modica, Sicilian desserts such as cassata and many more.
We’re bringing Londoners a little piece of Sicily on their doorstep.
The History Of Cannoli
Cannoli originate from the Palermo and Messina regions of Sicily and were historically prepared as a treat during Carnevale season, possibly as a fertility symbol; one legend assigns their origin to the harem of the town of Caltanissetta. The dessert eventually became a year-round staple throughout Italy.
Cannolis are traditionally filled with sheep's ricotta although many variations are found around the world. This delicacy is best enjoyed straight after being filled and Casa Cannoli are known for making the freshest available.

Vegan Pizza.
Coming from a background on an environmental study and working within the environmental sector it became obvious that there is a clear need for alternatives to the current consumer trends, exciting and enticing alternatives.
As the human population grows, it is ever more important to temper our levels of consumption of the Earths dwindling resources. The demand for food will increase and we are already over-fishing our oceans and over farming our land.
Plant Powered Pizza come in recognition of our planetary needs for our human race to survive the climate change effects. Embellishing our plant-based diet can prove one decision to really limit our individual impacts on our planet and by offering that here at Little Leaf we can develop a community that lives in a more harmonious existence with our home.

Full body Ki Energy Treatments use sound vibration and acupressure to release stress, pain and fatigue.
WHAT IS THAT SOUND?
During this healing treatment, the Ki practitioner transmits cosmic energy into the body's blocked chakras and meridian lines through touch and the use of the breath. The SSSHHH sound penetrates the blocked energy by combining sound with vibration. Most of the time the Ki is sent to constricted energy points through the hands, however, Ki energy can also be transferred without touching the body.
Through this technique, energy blockages can be quickly located and opened, leading to the removal of pain, tension and toxins that are often the precursors of disease. Ki Treatment transforms energy patterns by boosting energy levels creating a sense of well-being and renewed vitality. Furthermore, Ki Treatment is scientifically proven to strengthen the immune system which is the most important step in curing any disease or ailment.
HOW DOES KI TREATMENT WORK?
Ki Treatment begins with you lying on your back. The Ki practitioner will check your energy circulation by resting their hands on your abdomen. They will then begin to open the energy pathways by working on pressure points on your abdomen, arms, legs, neck, shoulders and head. At the same time, they will emit a SSSHHH sound that magnifies the energy being emitted into your body. When the Ki practitioner has finished with the front side, you will then turn over so that points on your back, shoulders, arms and legs can be stimulated. Finally you will sit up while the master loosens the tension in your shoulders and neck. A Ki Energy Treatment takes 15-20 minutes and the results are normally felt instantly. The Ki practitioner gives a full consultation after treatment.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT TO FEEL AFTER RECEIVING THE KI TREATMENT?
Most people report they feel lighter, calmer and less stressed. There is often a relief from pain and other symptoms as well as feeling energized . Many chronic health conditions are greatly relieved following Ki Treatment.
Please call to inquire about specific health conditions. Full body Ki Energy Treatments use sound vibration and acupressure to release stress, pain and fatigue.

My addiction with needle felting began after a one-day workshop….and I haven’t stopped since!I am now a member of the International Feltmakers Association. Needle felting involves sculpting wool into various shapes and involves no pattern or sewing, just imagination and lots of time.
As an animal-lover, I generally make four-legged models – both wildlife and pets (on a commission basis) but also enjoy creating brooches, decorative items and bag charms and a few off-the-wall creations.
If you are interested in learning to needle felt, have an idea you would like to see in three-dimensions or would like to see your pet sculpted in wool, please ask.
